Yeah, Camping currently doesn't run on 1.9 (neither version), but Bus Error?? Woah, that's not expected at all! Probably a bug in Ruby.
Can you try to clone/download the source and run irb -Ilib -rcamping-unabridged? I'm not very good at reading those Ruby-errors, but maybe it's a parser bug?
