Not 100% sure what you mean here. If Cantata crashes, then a backtrace is what
would be useful.

There is some extra debug that can be enabled to show the communication with
mpd - but this would not help with crashes. I can add a cmake switch to enable
this...

Then where can I find backtrace if Cantata happen to crash?

I am no developer and I don't know what is useful from maintainer perspective.
I only know that no software is perfect and users should be able to provide
useful info if something really bad happens.

Although Cantata proved itself to be rock-solid (hey, that was only one crash,
and it could be caused by partial newer Qt on my system), I believe it's better
to be safe than sorry.

Cheers

The KDE bug dialog should appear. This will give a backtrace, which you can
then attach t bug reports, etc.

Did this no appear before? Or ar you using the Qt-only build?

No, no dialog have appeared. Cantata simply disappeared (also from tray). I had
to start it again. That's why I though there is need for some verbose or debug
mode.

I am using KDE-enabled builds.

When other KDE applications crash (KMail, plasma-desktop), then Dr Konqi shows
up.

Not sure what debug I could really add that would help. Logging all function
calls would create a large app, and take lots of disk space. And if you cant
easily recreate the crash, then I'm not sure adding a "--debug" commandline
argument would do much good.

As I said, the crash dialog is the most useful. I'm not sure why Konqi is not
starting for you.

I've just done a quick check, where I forced a crash, and Konqi appeared.

Then I think it is safe to close this report - I believe that Dr Konqi is good
enough in providing meaningful info for developers. It was only it did not
showed up for whatever reason, I assumed that there is no info at all. If it
should have appear, then I was proved wrong.

If I happen to find a way to crash Cantata, I will notify you.

Thanks for your work :) .
