There is no sound after first time you click play button

This sounds like an issue with your system. When cantata plays a track it sends 
the "play" command to mpd, mpd will then emit a status update, when cantata 
receives this it starts a timer to move the position slider. (This timer saves 
having to poll mpd all the time to determine the current track position).

Looks like your MPD is slow to start playing the actual track.

Please try with another MPD client, and see if it exhibits similar behaviour. 
i.e. does playback start as soon as you press play, and can the track be heard.

I tried qmpdclient and have the same problem. The only difference was it didn't 
show the playing progress.

So it looks like a problem with ALSA and MPD.
