Are you 1000000% sure that the YEAR, ALBUM ARTIST / ARTIST (if album artist is
not set) and ALBUM are exactly the same on each track? When grouping tracks,
Cantata does NOT look at the filename. It only looks at these tags.

I have just tried, by using kid3 to edit anmp3 and m4a so that they are the
same album from the same artist (and same year) - and the grouping DOES work.

I'm 99.9999999999999999999999% sure this is due to an error with your tags -
perhaps one file has an extra space at the end of one of its tags? Maybe one
uses the wrong case for one word???

After unnecessarily excessive fussing around, I have gotten the album to behave
itself. The M4A was reporting a year and the MP3s were not, and I had no idea
because the names are so long. Sorry about that! My music has mistagged years
(And only the years) all over the place that I've been slowly fixing, so it's a
little embarrassing that I missed this one.

No probs, glad it sorted now. Previous versions did not use the date in the
grouping - but then another user had an artist that had released two albums
with the same name, but different year.
