Question: Get reference to parent PeriodicTask within Celery task

The way I do it is to pass the id of the PeriodicTask in as one of the kwargs. Inside the task, I can then just:

   schedule = PeriodicTask.objects.get(id=kwargs['schedule'])

@ShaheedHaque what did you type in the Django admin kwargs to reference the id?

@nick-nz FWIW, I did not use the Django admin. All my tasks were created programmatically, and so I basically had the id (the "schedule") I needed in my hand at the point the task was spawned.

I've a solution where you first save the periodic task and then update it again.
