still trying to figure out what's going on here, how should the impressions_count be set? currently it is :default => 0 and :null => false

Also, I've added it now, and all contents have 0 impressions, but they have impressions saved in the impressions table, this could be causing some conflict maybe?

I had the same issue with impressions_count column and I fixed changing the impressionist method.
Instead of calling outside of method, I put the call inside of method that I want to log my impressions:

impressionist @recipe

This happens because if you call the method outside of action, impressionist does not know what are the record that you want to log the impression.

I don't know if you already have the issue, by the way, this can help anyone that have the same problem.
