Can you show us the exact command you are using? Can you try escaping the spaces with a \ ?

I'm just running:
knife vsphere vm list
~/.chef/knife.rb has:
knife[:vsphere_dc] = "My Datacenter Name"
I just tried rbvmomi directly and I'm having the same problem, so this doesn't appear to be a knife-vsphere specific issue.

I figured it out. Our datacenters are in subfolders by region, so I needed to use:
knife[:vsphere_dc] = "North America/My Datacenter Name"
from knife-vsphere.
