the easiest way to work with starter right now it to download the latest version and copy it to the /usr/local/bin directory.

It seems that the brew version is still on 1.0.2. When i used the executable version of 1.0.3 it works.

@kamerblauwlicht Having taken another look at this, it appears the version on homebrew is 1.0.2, which would possibly explain why none of the commands I was trying worked.
I would love to download the executable for version 1.0.3, but I'm not entirely sure how to do this. If someone can point me in the direction direction (or maybe update the homebrew version to the latest) then I'll give this another try.
Thank you.

hi @LimeBlast!
which version are you running? #starter -v
from starter.
if you want to generate all the files you need to run:
$starter -g dockerfile,service,docker-compose -overwrite
from starter.
if you have troubles with the templates, starter is not updating the templates to the latest version (yet). please remove the old templates to fix the issue:
$rm ~/.starter/*
from starter.
please let me know how your are doing @LimeBlast

Hi, I'm really sorry for leaving this so long before replying, other things got in the way.
I'm going to take another look at this later today to see if I can't get to the bottom of what's going on.

The homebrew package doesn't work!
version details: cloud66/tap/c66starter-1.0.2
The version flag (and the -g flag of course) is broken -- couldn't get this thing to work..
$ starter -v
flag provided but not defined: -v
Usage of starter:
-branch string
template branch in github (default "master")
-e string
set project environment (default "production")
-overwrite
overwrite existing files
-p string
project path
-templates string
location of the templates directory
-y do not prompt user
UPDATE: looks like the homebrew package hasn't been updated.
from starter.
I think the issue with homebrew is that the cloud66/c66starter repo needs updating. I've opened an issue for it: cloud66/c66starter#1
from starter.
@LimeBlast I can send a pull request to fix this if that's okay - https://github.com/cloud66/homebrew-tap/blob/master/c66starter.rb
from starter.
Nothing to do with me, go ahead and send the request if you like, but if the cloud66 guys aren't paying attention, it won't do any good.
from starter.
nvm. I cannot send a pull request to update this since it is referring a bin at https://github.com/cloud66/c66starter
from starter.
yes. we are aware of the problem with the brew tap. i create an issue to make this work.
from starter.
starter -v
and starter -g dockerfile,service,docker-compose
still do not work. I installed via the shell script provided above.
from starter.
Any update on this? Still doesn't work
