@jdalton been thinking about this a bit today, I think we're not going to support it. It would be a lot of complexity for a comparatively rare use case. I think we could get close to current performance with "prebound" functions, but if you consider the time for the call to .bind() as well, it's going to really suffer. It's listed in the caveats section anyway, and I've added a notice to the top of the README encouraging people to actually read that.

It's possible that we could add .safeBind(), .safeMap() etc which implement these functions more closely inline with the spec, but if the developer needs that they should probably just use Lo-Dash.

Are you talking about the .length? As I said I don't support it either (because of CSP environment concerns) but I know popular npm packages do func.length checks to see if for example you're passing an error handler.

As for the perf of the actual bind() call, that's less of a concern for me because the idea is it's bound once and called multiple times.

As for the instanceof check that's the same consideration as #17.
