The $main-color
variable should be defined inside your pageflow/themes/<theme_name>.css.scss
. In the past, I've sometimes ran into trouble like this, when there still was an application.css.scss
from the rails project template containing a line like:
require_tree .
This causes all stylesheets (also those from the themes
directory) to be included into the precompiled version of application.css
. If the file declaring $main-color
happens to come up to late in that ordering, precompilation fails. Could you check if that is the issue here?
If this is the case, you can safely delete this line (or the whole application.css.scss
file since it at least is not used by Pageflow)
from pageflow.
Wow that was a fast answer! :-)
The pageflow/themes/<theme_name>.css.scss looked intact.
I found an application.css file in the stylesheets folder containing "require_tree .".
I renamed that file and precompilation worked.
I can now select the new theme. Thanks for the fast and good help.

Glad it worked! This gotcha should probably also be mentioned in the wiki page. I'll add a note there.
