I'm not sure I follow, what do you mean specifically?

Many of these projects have an index.html page, so it would be easy to statically host this repo. Just go to here: https://github.com/coding-horror/basic-computer-games/settings/pages and enable GitHub pages, that's literally all there is to it! 😄

That is a good idea, so we could create runnable versions hosted on the page? 🤔 Can you mock up what it would look like?

You literally already have all of the code

Oh you mean the javascript versions. What about the other versions? .net, Java, Python, etc?

Explosion-Scratch avatar Explosion-Scratch commented on June 20, 2024

Those couldn't really be published because they would need some sort of compiler or something.

Right so I was thinking, we should do it for all of them if we're going to do it for any of them.. but if you have a proposed version for JS feel free to send a pull request and let's take a look at it!

It's not a thing I can PR. It's just an option in your repo settings. Literally one click and you're done.https://www.pluralsight.com/guides/how-to-host-your-static-webpages-on-github-pages

@coding-horror What about the other versions? .net, Java, Python, etc?

I have a repo of C# console games and I ported the code to Blazor to make them playable on GitHub Pages. If interested in this topic, my example may help you:
https://github.com/ZacharyPatten/dotnet-console-games

It would be easy to make a code generator for this, but I have not done that yet myself.
