REXML::ParseException: missing attribute quote, when Google blocks requests

Google has made some changes to their service, and seem to be catching more people who may be or may be close to breaking the TOS. A project we're working on had this same problem and the solution we came up with was to switch to Mapquest: http://developer.mapquest.com/. I recently updated Graticule's Mapquest handler to the newer API, will get a proper release out shortly. Unfortunately there's nothing this library can do about Google throttling requests.

FYI: Just released version 2.4.0 which has the updated Mapquest handler.

Thanks jason. Do you have a link where Google announces this change?

I don't think they ever announced anything, they just seem to be cracking down on the service usage as of late. I have no proof other than my situation and this one, which are identical. The terms of use are mentioned here https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/geocoding/.
