I'd rather have Silex packaged as a standard composer package. With the phar still available for those who want it of course.
Phars including other phars quickly becomes messy, I think it's better to move away from this.

Ok, so I'm confused. @stof did you mean a) package composer into a phar or b) allow composer to install phar-packaged libs?
Because I assumed you were refering to the latter.

Silex for instance is distributed through a phar archive.
