No, an empty string works currently. You just have to enable it explicitly like here. Still, the interact_opt would mean that the ugly filter part is not needed anymore.

@kegesch Do you mean instead of returning an empty string the new method would return None? Sounds good to me!

@sirwindfield i think at the moment there even can't be an empty string. It has to be at least a whitespace or am I wrong? But yeah returning None would be nice.

Why closing it? It's a feature request, a new method that returns an Option instead of an empty String 🤔 Edit: Nevermind, the original issue was with alloe-empty. Can be closed in this case!
