Yes, in the namelist discussion we meant that explicit tides (tidal momentum forcing) should be turned off, which is what you've done in https://github.com/COSIMA/MOM6-CICE6/pull/77/files.

I agree the parameterised tidal dissipation should be turned on when we have the appropriate input files. We have some from OM2 - maybe they could be used, at least until we have some with proper provenance?

I agree. I’ll merge that PR, and once we have the input files with proper provenance, I’ll submit another PR to address the tidal dissipation parameterizations.
