One thing I would like to add. Is it possible to include the lite-branch or will this branch be deprecated soon due to changes in crosswalk itself?

You can already specify the "channel" in xwalkVersion (example 2). However, you can choose only between stable and beta since those are the only two published versions.
The default is beta, only because the beta branch includes stable builds as well.
If crosswalk-lite has a maven repo, then we can certainly include it. I think it's still in alpha stages though...

Thanks for the "beta" answer!
I know that we can already specify channel and version, but I just thought that there might be a simpler way for the user.

thanks for your answer. Actually it does not seem to be a maven repo. Only available here
https://download.01.org/crosswalk/releases/crosswalk-lite/android/canary/
and on github
http://github.com/crosswalk-project/crosswalk.git@origin/crosswalk-lite
I was hoping that xwalk13 would already allow to disable certain features ... unfortunately not :(
