Thanks for the feedback moba, it is really great that you are testing the app.
My view would be to address your bugs by the following:
bug 1: "I find it unnecessarily hard to hit the right spot of an existing event"
fix 1: make the lat/lng less precise i.e. a radius selection around the lat/lng actual click location in order to make it easier to click on existing events.
bug 2: " the link in the dialog is non-working anyway"
bug 2: fix the link

As I've said, I don't necessarily see why you would need that dialog in the first place, and vote for dropping it altogether.
