Hi Doug, thank you so much for the report, I do have high regard for portability, so yes, I do care about macOS/clang compatibility. I will take a look at the SSIZE_MAX situation and include clang in my validation workflow, soon.

Hi Doug,

I added the conditional test for SSIZE_T and tested with clang (v12.0.1), on linux, but was not able to replicate the "implicit conversion changes signedness", both with glibc and musl, I am actually curious and worried that this warning is NOT happening.

make clean all && ./ls9 test.ls9
make CC=clang WERROR= clean all && ./ls9 test.ls9

Still investigating.

Mystery solved, glibc and musl use macros, macOS use the function call. Should be fixed in 1954c6a. Default build is now 64-bit also.
