how to change the color of my sidebar to black?

Same issue here - on windows, the sidebar has a black background, but on Linux, it's light grey, making the filenames hard to read - how we change this?

I exited and started again ST, it did the trick (Yosemite on MBP retina)

so are we set on this one or is it still there ? ,also keep in mind that colors are a slightly different from mac to windows to linux due to the color collaboration the OS apply.

@JulianeAlbuquerque to change the sidebar color open "Seti.sublime-theme" file and search for

sidebar_container
and change 
"layer0.tint": [16,17,18] // RGB

okey great ,i will point that out in the readme next time to avoid such problem with future installations.
