I think I have discovered what was causing the problem...
In my Inform 7 code I had...
"Instead of asking the innkeeper about it for the first time:"
And I got the aforementioned error. However, if I change it to:
"Instead of asking the innkeeper about something for the first time:"
The error goes away!
Both versions are accepted by Inform 7 though.
