Since we still do not know how to obtain/generate a .sap.bin from a .isu.bin, this is theoretical.

If they have the same hardware chips inside, cross flashing could work. I would not try cross-flashing if different chips are built into the devices.

How is the newer Sonoro Stream device called?

They both are sold as "Sonoro Stream", I'm not aware of some other identifier (in the hardware/firmware there surely is, else the older would get the update). Sonoro simply released another version a year later, but with identical case and remote control and price, only difference seems to be the newer and slightly-more-feature-rich firmware on otherwise identical hardware.

The manuals for my devices have for both version SO-410. So the SO-411 seems to be an even newer one.

On Amazon back in the days the newer one was labeled "Sonoro Stream (2020)" and the old one just "Sonoro Stream".

Sonoro FAQ says:

one more edit: so, after all, my old device seems to be the "SO-410 [2018]" and my newer one "SO-410 [2020]".
