The error is caused by a corrupted cookie. I will improve the error message, but otherwise I don't see much else to fix.

I suppose the forum software could provide for an easier way to clear the cookie (reset the read posts history).

I don't see a way to solve this either. But the new error message tells the user right away what to do. So from my side this issue can be closed.
