Could you run the following code on your select:
$data = $select->buildQuery()->fetchAll();
dd($data);The buildQuery will bypass the typecasting and we will be able to observe what database is giving back to you.
Also, check the full Exception trace, the original typecasting error will be located in the previous exception, this will let you know what exactly is the problem.
