Thanks for the feature request!
The feature to pin the type being displayed, I think this feature would be even more useful! Thanks for the suggestion!
Contributions are also welcome. As for a way to contribute, perhaps it would be better to do it the way VSCode provides it as standard, but I am not sure if there is a suitable feature or API available to make this possible!
I guess a first good step would just be a little pin icon beside the expanded type which would keep it active until unpinned.
