I'm having the exact same issue. The sidebar just appears. No animation.
from ng-pageslide.
Thanks for catching it, the issue is because you are styling the inner div instead of the panel .'ng-pageslide'.
The purpose of the inner div is to hide/unhide the content while the slider is animating.
I added support for specifying a custom class on the pageslide using ps-class="whatever" as an html attribute.

Same issue here, I have no styling in the inner div and still does not animate (transition). The pageslide just shows up.
I removed the inner styling of the inner panel from nathasm's sample (http://plnkr.co/edit/0TaPxAsMZ7DO090WWH6Z?p=preview) above and the sample doesn't animate either.
dpiccone,
Are we missing something here?

I updated the plunkr with the latest version
http://plnkr.co/edit/uD7n9Uuyt2x4e134LVUN?p=preview
when closed it's still showing a small bar on the right, because I am using bootstrap class .well, which has a minimum size, you can override it with css
