Unable to find async functions

you are correct, I did this very hastily for my own use at the time and forgot to consider async def
objects which are different types in python ast (Abstract Syntax Trees). There are similar issues with annotated methods/functions
that I intend to solve when I have time.

for in the latest patch 0.9.1 I made it so that if finds the function object for async functions and returns the signature.

In the future I need to consider that users might want to mark these as async in the documentations
for now it's just a quick patch that should get you up and running, let me know if there's something fundamentally broken
about it
