I'm sure that the reinstall
option together with --HEAD
was working before. I guess some commit on homebrew-core broke this behaviour. @d12frosted, the maintainer of emacs-plus, has done a deep analysis on how brew behave on the installation and re-installation of a Formula.
I went through the home-brew docs and I found this. So, in short, it seems that the --HEAD
is not officially supported by the reinstall
option. The only workaround I found is to unconditionally download all of the patches (used or not) declaring them as resources. I don't really like it to much but thats the only viable way I could think about. Lemme make some tries and will back to you.

Hi @DivineDominion,
I will have a look ... thanks :)

Thanks for your efforts! IIRC it also didn't work without --HEAD
, and I tried with that flag later to see if it would properly fetch the latest version, hoping that the missing patch bug was fixed there.

@DivineDominion did you get a chance to test it on your machine?

Sorry, didn't have a chance during the week, but I tried this Saturday, and it went through just fine
