Good thought - yes, it would be virtually impossible to synchronise multiple stopwatches any other way.

This would almost be a matrix of stopwatches

To get fancy, one might allow to define keyboard shortcuts for individual stopwatches to control the start/stop buttons. Focus would need to be on a "control by keyboard-widget" (or at least not on any other input control).

Good idea.
What else were you thinking of for a UI to control multiple shortcuts. If a stopwatch was set up as a member of a group fro the outset (via its action tag), then a 'start group' button could replace the 'start' button upon the first start.
However, there would be little point in synchronising stops, since this would negate the need for multiple stopwatches, so we would need to think how to handle the user stopping and restarting one at a time.

I was thinking of providing a separate widget that controls (a group of) other stopwatches. The individual stopwatches would still work independently. Group-start would start all that are not already running. Stop would stop all that have not been stopped individually already. Reset would reset all (but only would work after all are stopped).

BTW, have you tried out the module yet?

I see; nice. Would the separate widget be set within an independent text box?
I haven't yet been able to - I currently don't have access to the server side of a REDCap installation. I will ask the IT guy that looks after them if he has a sandpit set up.

Whereever the user would put the action tag for it. Probably into a descriptive field?

I recommend you set up a XAMPP installation on your own computer. It's fairly easy to do.

OK, I will look to do that. Thanks
