FYI: Microsoft's Reference Source is using MIT Licence as per https://github.com/microsoft/referencesource/blob/master/LICENSE.txt

@dazinator: your previous comment seems to imply MIT Licence or similar for this repo as well (correct me if I'm wrong). If MIT Licence is acceptable for you, adding it to the repo might clear up these questions (:.

I produced the initial implementation of this by looking at the "system.web" source code on microsofts reference source site a few years ago to see how it worked and basically re-implement it for use with .net core. I think I did look at licencing around that scenario but I can't remember the outcome. From my perspective I have no problems with people using this library in commercial or non commercial applications with the caveat that this is ok with microsoft, something I have no confirmation on. If anyone has access to a legal team, or is able to suggest an approriate licence for this repo that doesn't violate microsofts, then let me know :-)

Thanks for the info. If anyone is willing to send a PR to add the MIT licence that would be welcomed - otherwise I'll try and get around to it at some point in the future.
