Hi Colmoneill,

<strike> is an obsolete tag. You should use <del> instead.

That being said, ~~ for <del> isn't part of Python Markdown, and therefore it won't work in Flask-Markdown either. There is a whole list of extensions that you can use to extend Python Markdown's behavior.

The one I would recommend for you is tilde extension from the PyMdown extensions Bundle which has a lot of common extensions, including the <del> one you are looking for.

If you are looking to extend Python Markdown, Flask-Markdown let's you do so easily through the register_extension() method. You can see an example of a quick and dirty <del> extension in my fork of this project: https://github.com/brmullikin/flask-markdown/blob/master/flask_markdown/tests/mdx_del.py.
