The Redis 2.2 scripting branch is currently required. It won't work with the 2.4 unstable branch. Must be a different implementation -- I read somewhere they'll look into it sometime.

The latest version of Racer no longer requires Redis to get up and running.
We are going to require Redis with scripting support for persistence, but hopefully Redis 2.6 will be out very shortly. Unfortunately, the old 2.2-scripting branch is pretty long in the tooth, and I'd rather not debug issues with it when 2.6 is around the corner.
