Thanks! That's a great observation, it did not occur to me to set a background color, I'll add it to the next release.

I've set a default color for everything, just in case. 😋 The fix should be live on AMO.

Are you seeing the same dark background on the options page too?

No I do not, but I think this issue only occurs when the HTML is affiliated to the Firefox's UI itself. Since the preferences page is a standalone HTML, I think it's okay.

Also, if worth mentioning, I am using the fix/setting, described in the link below, to avoid my Dark GTK Theme to interfere with any web page (ie. in about:config adding the setting widget.content.gtk-theme-override):
