As a hack, maybe you can call _processNextIfAllowed (this still checks the precondition) or _processNext (this forces tasks to be executed).
Feel free to make changes to the library!

Isn't the queue always flushed as soon as possible? Do you have the queue paused?

I have batchSize set to 200, batchDelay set to 15 minutes (in millis) and batchDelayTimeout set to 15 mins also.
These settings are in place so that we only send log entries in batches of 200 or 15 minutes after the last entry, whichever is first. I do not want to process each log entry separately.
