Nginx WebDAV to local filesystem might be a good first step. It's not very durable, but it'd get a service up and running.

Nginx WebDAV is somewhat lacking for implementation completion. Perhaps WebDAV CGI instead?

EasyDav is another option which would likely work better behind Nginx.

WsgiDAV appears to be more advanced than EasyDAV's website made out. That's probably because it was apparently resurrected and moved to GitHub early in 2014. By comparison to previous solutions this looks much better.

As a side note, authentication via AAF ECP would be an ideal solution for the WebDAV auth problem.

WsgiDAV allows browsing, but for file uploading some other solution will be required.

EasyDAV was adapted to work, but without DAV. AAF ECP seems a long way off, so we'll have to make do with setting DAV passwords if this is used later.
