Hi haakond,
thanks for your feedback! At some point we'll have a look at setting newrelic.ini values via attributes, we'll keep you updated!
Kind regards,

Hi @haakond,
we've made some changes to the cookbook, allowing more advanced config from the cookbook's attributes.
Would you mind having a look, a spin and give us some feedback?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
David

Hello David,
Thank you very much for your heads up, this looks like great work.
Will try it out and let you know.

Hi again,
Would appreciate if you could push the updated version to the Opscode community site, and I'll update from there.
Thanks,
Håkon

Hi,
we're still testing things out, so will hold off pushing this new version to the Opscode community for now.
Perhaps, you could give the cookbook a test run by checking out the cookbook code via git?
We're looking forward to your feedback and comments, thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
David

Hello again David,
For various reasons I am unfortunately not able to test the cookbook right now, but I've read through the changesets here on GitHub, and compared to NewRelic's documentation it looks like all sensible configuration settings now can be handled via attributes. I think it's a good idea for the attribute array level naming convention to be generic, as you have done, instead of being specific for each application type. I really appreciate your effort!
Thanks,
Håkon
from newrelic.
Hi Håkon,
no worries - we ran some tests over the past couple of days and decided to release the cookbook to the community. This was a quite big update to the cookbook, so any issues will get highlighted by the community.
Thanks again for your suggestion, don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any other suggestions or issues - have a great evening!
Kind regards,
David
