This is a bug.  However, in your particular case it appears to be exacerbated 
by the large difference in view size.  Making the lower split screen the same 
size as the upper may be a temporary work around for you.

A similar problem occurs if you minimise the lower split screen.

Thanks.  Increasing size of lower window is a workaround - I'll continue with 
that until its fixed.

Another work around is to swipe within the commentary or footnotes screens to 
change to adjacent verses i.e. if you can get to v25 but not v26, then go to 
commentary or footnotes for v25 and swipe-left.
