I detected the problem yesterday too. I noticed that passing a colors array through the options object would help fixing the problem. Here is an example of how to generate some colors for your chart:

//assuming values is your array of values
//assuming r is your Raphael object
//assuming your values array is not multidimensional

var arrColors = [];
for(var i=0;i<values.length;i++) {
    arrColors.push("hsb(" + Math.random()*0.36 +  "," + Math.random() +  ", " + (0.5+Math.random()/2) +  ")");
}
