It's weird, there is no singleton connection for any database. You can prove it by having 2 connections at the same time.

It's not a solution but.. why don't you just open connection once and do everything you want without closing it? After all, the app is running so you can keep the connection open. It will speed up every request..

Yeh i may need to go back to that method. It was just that i had db code in different files that were unrelated.

I'm going to close this to avoid clutter in the issues but I'm sure there's some kind of bug here, just not easy to track down.
