This may be related to #11.

If logs have been transmitted to the server and Log Courier is awaiting acknowledgements, it will not proceed with shutdown until it receives them and all logs are flushed. Of course if connectivity is completely gone, it won't shutdown until it returns. I'm going to improve this so if a timeout occurs when flushing, it shuts down straight away. It would need to send the logs again anyway so it will just do that on the next run.

Note: This is also happening while no logs are transmitted, so Log Courier should not be awaiting acknowledgements (for example using a bad curvezmq configuration, e.g keys).

I've just reproduced this. I'll push a fix!
