I thought we solved this problem? - see #38
from jetzt.
Good point, I didn't try it yet. I should try before coming up with backup solutions ;)
I'll try tomorrow.
If we think we don't need the backup we can close this for now, we can always reopen it.

The article selection does not solve this problem in that it doesn't let you choose a start point. It just makes a best guess and you have to live with it.
On the other hand, selecting text before pressing alt-s can be clumsy, and the current mouseover selection mode can pick up a lot of cruft and doesn't let you e.g. start halfway through the

s in a

.
To fix this, I've made the default mouseover mode select the siblings of the pointed-to node. In addition, it tries to filter out non-text stuff which seems to work pretty well. Finally, you can hold alt to get the old behaviour back.
This is all in dev. Try it out.

The article scraper we are running is pretty flaky to be honest, I think we should scrap that and use this new method. It seems to work nicely. Then we have just alt
-s
to worry about

@ds300, I like it! Your solution has the same outcome, but with more feedback.
I'm considering this closed.
