Should be possible to modify the request builder to put generic properties. Then a ProgressListener
instance can be added as a property of the request. Callback methods will get invoked when bytes are
written out for the request entity or bytes are read from the response representation.
A potential caveat is that implementations of ProgressListener must do their work quickly as the callback
methods will block writing/reading. I would prefer to implement an async messaging approach so that
blocking will never occur but i doubt that is easy to do using the current Java APIs.
