Can you check with the latest I Build ? I think this is already fixed via #2093

What is your version ? It is also not completely broken, it is perhaps completely broken in a narrow scenario :)

Thank you for your quick response and guidance.
I have tested with the latest Integration Builds from http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/I-builds, and I can confirm that the issue is now resolved. The hover functionality in the Eclipse Java Editor works as expected again.
As you mentioned, the error was indeed occurring only with certain classes and not universally.
Thank you once again for your swift assistance and for addressing this issue promptly.
