@kkeidl 我这边无法重现， 你换一个传统的窗口管理器 mutter/kwin 试一下。
Tile WM 一般的窗口协议实现不完整。

在同一个emacs window的座标区域， 是不可能有两个窗口， 因为 eaf View 都被销毁了。
gnome-shell 现在都不是用 x11, 用的 wayland。
我在想 wayland 和 i3 都无法正常的支持 x11 reparent
