ESS mirror is a git mirror of main SVN repo and is synchronised
automatically. ESS is an independent git branch used for development
and synced manually with SVN.

Yes, it is supposed to be synced every 10 minutes as long as my computer
is on. Given the rate of ESS development that should be good enough for
everybody.
It was a glitch in my cron jobs, and the repo was not updated for the
past month or so. Sorry. It should be back to normal now.
