When I run embark blockchain (a second time after ^C), i get:

Fatal: Error starting Ethereum: listen udp :30303: bind: address already in use

Wonder if this is the same problem?

Ah, my problem seems to be a general problem with geth on OS X: ethereum/go-ethereum#1271

My guess is that it was a problem with the watch plugin in grunt
from embark.
