Hi, this is a file you are able to find in your project. Yeah, I think it should appear in Intellij.

If not, could you please share a screenshot of your project structure? (say, the left panel demonstration in Intellij )

Here is the screenshot of the panel. I searched but couldn't find the file

Seems to me, the gradle project is not created.

Did you do the following from the textbook accordingly?

Yes, I did that. I was trying to re-do it. But I don't know how to delete the existing project. So I created another project called "dsa-java1", in which I still can't find the file needed.

Here is a screenshot of the new project.

From my speculation, it might due to some IntelliJ configuration issue.
On my laptop, after create a Gradle project. The IntelliJ would first create a hand of files like your screenshot shows.
And then, IntelliJ would load/create more files in background process, leading gradle/wrapper directory created.

I just found out there is an error message on the bottom but I'm not sure what that means.. Is it potentially related to the issue? I tried reinstalling IntelliJ, but the problem is still present.

After I clicked on the link in blue, I downloaded a folder called "gradle-6.5-bin" on my desktop, Is it a central part of the project?

It seems to me, IntelliJ was downloading necessary contents in the background process. After download finished, relevant files would be created.

@ywu496 could you share some updates about this issue?

Hi, thanks for helping out! I'm actually planning to go to your office hours for this. I've tried for hours trying to solve this sync failed error. I already have the Gradle downloaded(independently), but the sync failed error never goes away. When I open the "Build Tools" and select "Gradle", I could see that "gradle-wrapper.properties not found" error. I suppose it is either that Gradle is not installed properly or the directory is not set properly, which I tried but couldn't solve.

Thanks for the detailed update.
Yes, I agree with your speculation. Some students have encountered similar situations due to "sync issue". The sync process could be slow if the internet connection is not stable since it needs to download necessary support library such as org.junit.test.

I would say, your actions are mostly correct. And you are welcome to drop by during office hours.

Hi, I tried to join the office hour zoom session, but it says that it's a recurring meeting. Do we have office hours today at all?

@ywu496 Please check the office hours on the syllabus: https://github.com/emory-courses/dsa-java/blob/master/docs/syllabus.md#office-hours

I finally solved the problem by installing Gradle first and then re-installing IntelliJ.
