Same here. Problem is, non-existence of interface blocks loading of status bar.

The option from above should help ; it was built for situations like this. Only in case that doesn't work it's a bug ;)

Why is it not handled directly, but you need to set option for it? How is it desirable to crash whole bar when interface isn't available? I think you should remove that option and handle it without the option. If you believe you have proper reason to keep that option, you should at least add this option into sample configuration file in readme section, as most people start from there and not all people will trace the problem. Software should work correctly when user configures it according to instructions.
