You'll have to give some more detail. Which proxy type are you using? HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS
Also, do you have a specific setup that I'd be able to recreate so that I can test things further?
Edit:
I set up Privoxy to test the HTTP and HTTPS proxy options and everything seems to work fine. When the HTTPS proxy is used, it sends the correct CONNECT request.

my bad, I didn't understood HTTPS proxy in that way (rather the SSL inspection way) and was using HTTP proxy instead - so far, HTTPS proxy is working as expected
