Hi Erik, not really. Copying the comment here: =================== The problem with the UI - as I stated in the description to #60 - is that it does not allow typing-in the DB name instead of selecting from the dropdown. What happens is that the focus is moved back to the server textbox if the DB list cannot be refreshed. And it can never succeed with contained databases (the user does not have access to the master DB.) So the following code (ln. 173): if (dbComboboxParam == db_comboBox) { server_textBox.Focus(); } else { pm_server_textBox.Focus(); } needs to be removed. This also means that instead of _localParamConnectionInfo.Database = pm_db_comboBox.SelectedItem != null ? pm_db_comboBox.SelectedItem.ToString() : ""; it needs to be _localParamConnectionInfo.Database = pm_db_comboBox.Text; The Text property will contain the selected item text if the selection is made or the manually typed-in (pasted) database name. ===================

I can type the database name using the latest build, if you are still unable to do so, then please file an issue with detailed repro steps.

Repro info:

You've added handler for ex.Number == 40615 but I'm getting 18456 (login failed.)
This is one problem.
The other problem is with the DB name. It needs to be retrieved through pm_db_comboBox.Text
Otherwise it is not present in the connection string (as it is not an item in the dropdown).
So the STR look like this:
Create an Azure DB
Configure a user in this DB that does not have the server-level access (contained user.)
Try connecting to the database using this user.
