Hello and thanks for your question.

This is a request we've gotten before but not often so it is not on our roadmap to address. I'd suggest posting it to the ArcGIS Ideas site or looking for another post similar to this that you can add your request to.

A couple questions related to your request though:

  1. Is the distance straight line distance? Or should it consider drivetime?
  2. Is the distance per assignment? Per assignment type? Per worker?
  3. Are there certain workers to which this should not be enforced, e.g. Supervisors?
  4. Should we also block the worker from Starting the assignment or editing it in any way, if they are outside the distance?

Hello thanks for replying.

  1. I think the distance should be a some sort of circle so if a worker inside of that circle, worker should be able to to finish the assignment.
  2. It should work per assignment since workers are assigned to assignments. But you have a point over there if a assignment is on a road for example then it does not make sense. So we can fix it by putting an extra parameter when assigning an assignment such as asking if let worker finish the assignment wherever he wants and if it is unchecked then it asks for a specific radius from the assignment.
  3. It makes sense, if you add the option i described in the second answer then operator enforce it no whomever operator wants.
  4. Starting makes sense because if you are on the road to the assignment it should be seen as "in progress" but they should not be able to finish it.
